Dear Friend:
Our political community is as divided today as it has ever been. Government at all levels is having a harder and harder time making decisions and solving the problems that face us all from time to time. Flooding seems to always get worse, our children need more and better education to get decent jobs, we want a higher quality of life but it seems other communities get what we want before us and while the petrochemical industry in our area flourishes, we need the diversity necessary to keep our children here in our community after they graduate and start their adult lives. Why can’t we do better?
We can! It takes a team and a pro-active leader around whom we can gather and be inspired.
When I was asked these questions my first response to my friends was “run for office”. Then I thought if change is to happen it must always begin with ME. So, I decided I had the responsibility to again seek public office and create the answers to the questions of our future. I’m back and I am running for County Judge of Jefferson County and am asking for your vote and support In helping me create the team to grow our community.
I would like for you to recall the things I have worked so hard on in our county that affected our quality of life; from reducing the cost of collecting taxes in Jefferson County from $4,000,000 per year to $1,000,000 to bringing the federal resources needed to improve our infrastructure; from teaching science to children in our schools to bringing millions of dollars to Lamar University for science and engineering research; and, from working to create harmony within diverse Congressional political interests to creating coalitions of support to progress with the development of our Sabine-Neches Ship Channel.
My work with science, transportation, agricultural, energy and environmental issues for years in local, state and national government have more than prepared me for the role I will play as the chief administrative officer of the county, Jefferson County Judge. The citizens of Jefferson County will benefit immensely from my knowledge, experiences and contacts.
All I have ever wanted to do was be a good public servant. I have been. I left office with a positive record and entered the business world which has rounded my background to someone who is exceptionally prepared to meet the challenges our county faces from disaster recovery to economic development and from education to public communications. Now I am asking your support and assistance to let me put those experiences to work for you as Jefferson County’s top administrator.
Will you join me in this endeavor? Will you make a real effort to reach out to your friends and family in getting them to vote for me on November 6 of this year in the general election? There are many things you can do to be of help including volunteering at the headquarters, invite me to your home to meet your friends, tell your neighbors of your support with a yard sign, make a gift of the money we will need to reach out to the large number of people we cannot see in person.
You may call our office at 409-781-6644 to volunteer or go to https://secure.actblue.com/donate/lampsonforcountyjudge online to make a contribution.
Your contribution of $25, $100 or $500 or more will be appreciated and make a difference in the campaign.
Thank you!
